Abstract

The work demonstrates how the digitization of museums transforms cultural identity and analyzes how digital platforms enable interaction between cultural objects and users. Its relevance is due to the dynamic transformation of cultural identity in the digital museum ecosystem, which not only preserves its best examples but also introduces qualitatively new forms of cultural experience, such as gamified tours, VR exhibitions, interactive archives, virtual reconstructions, and social platforms for discussion. With their help, traditional ideas about cultural identity as “material” culture are giving way to dynamic, networked, and interactive ones. The study aims to identify the mechanisms of influence that shape new cultural identity and develop interactive forms of cultural interaction. It is implemented through the analysis of theoretical approaches to cultural identity and museum communication; characterization of the phenomenon of digital museum space; identification of key technological mechanisms that transform cultural identity; clarification of risks and opportunities for its preservation; development of recommendations for the effective implementation of digital museum practices. The methodological basis of the work is based on systemic, comparative, and cultural approaches, with a separate analysis of the role of digital museum platforms (VR/AR exhibitions, interactive interfaces, digital archives, and gamified tours). Research findings show that digital technologies activate user participation in cultural communication, personalize experiences, and develop a critical perception of cultural heritage. At the same time, digital space poses a challenge due to the fragmentation of cultural content and the marginalization of local communities. It has been found that the interactivity and inclusiveness of digital museum practices provide a balance between cultural integrity and innovation. The conclusion emphasizes that the digital museum space is not only representative but also transforms cultural identity and develops the inclusion of cultural interaction. The digital museum space is a key environment for the development of interactive cultural communication, supporting cultural identity in the digital age and combining technological innovation with humanitarian content and social responsibility.
