Abstract
The relevance of the study is due to the growing role of tourism as a factor of sustainable development, post-war recovery and regional stability of Ukraine, as well as the presence of a gap between the declared principles of sustainability and the real training of specialists in educational institutions. The formation of competencies of sustainable and responsible tourism requires a holistic methodology capable of integrating economic, environmental and social priorities into the content and results of training. The article aims to substantiate scientific and methodological approaches to the integration of the principles of sustainable and responsible tourism into the educational process of educational institutions of Ukraine, taking into account international guidelines and national challenges for the development of the industry. The research methodology is based on a systemic and competency-based approach using analysis and generalization of scientific sources, comparative analysis of international educational models, and structural and logical modeling. The main results consist of systematizing the key areas of competence formation for sustainable and responsible tourism and establishing their connection with the Sustainable Development Goals. A structured methodology is proposed that combines tools for energy efficiency, monitoring of sustainable development of destinations, resource efficiency, climate action, circular economy and digitalization of tourism processes. It was found that effective formation of relevant competences is possible if theoretical training is combined with practice-oriented educational formats and the use of international cases. The feasibility of integrating economic indicators of tourism development in Ukraine as a tool for the formation of analytical and managerial competencies of education seekers is substantiated. The practical significance of the results lies in the possibility of using the proposed methodology in updating educational programs in tourism in educational institutions of Ukraine, developing training modules on sustainable and responsible tourism, as well as in training specialists capable of making responsible management decisions in the conditions of post-war recovery, regional development and integration of Ukraine into the world tourism space
