Abstract

The piece examines the phenomenon of digital identity as a new mode of human being within the scope of electronic culture. The significance of this research stems from the swift digitization of the socio-cultural area, which alters methods of personal recognition, broadens avenues for imaginative self-portrayal, and concurrently creates fresh obstacles linked to the fusion of borders between the actual and the simulated, the reassessment of embodiment, and the shift in established concepts regarding gender and the artist’s persona. The chief issues noted involve the instability and splintering of virtual persona, the reliance of self-portrayal on visual signals and online spaces, the diminishing of embodiment to a media depiction, and the conflicts between the genuineness of the artistic individual and the digital setting’s demands for their public facade. This study seeks to pinpoint the trends in virtual identity shaping amid digital culture, examine the methods of self-showing for a creative individual in musical endeavors, and grasp how visual, physical, and gender elements contribute to building the portrayal of a musician and composer in the online realm. The study employs such techniques as examination and combination — to summarize theoretical viewpoints on the subject of identity; cultural and visual arts scrutiny — to construe the manifestations of musical works in the computerized sphere; contrasting technique — to juxtapose tangible and online versions of selfhood; conversation critique — to pinpoint the characteristics of self-portrayal in digital settings; and explanatory perspective — to grasp depiction, physical form, and gender within simulated culture. Theoretical frameworks for grasping identity in the humanities are examined, and the significance of the term “digital identity” is explained. The effect of digital conversion on the alteration of methods for an individual’s self-expression is explored. The attributes in shaping the simulated identity of an inventive person, specifically a musician and composer, are established. The function of musical arts as a venue for building a personal profile in a digital setting is uncovered. The importance of visual culture in the processes of forming and portraying digital identity is examined. The alteration of corporeality within the digital realm and its effect on the development of the artist’s image are explored. The gender dimensions of digital identity and the characteristics of their appearance in the creative sphere are outlined. The connection between a person’s actual and virtual identity in contemporary culture is summarized. Subsequent research ought to concentrate on a deeper examination of the evolution of digital identity amid advancing digital technologies, specifically the influence of artificial intelligence and algorithmic platforms on the methods of self-portrayal by a creative individual.
