Abstract

In the current conditions of transformation processes and globalization challenges, the issue of ensuring balanced socio-economic development of the regions of Ukraine is of particular importance. Regional development is the basis of economic stability and social unity of the state, at the same time it is characterized by deep territorial disparities, which necessitate the search for new approaches in the field of public administration. The article aims to reveal the theoretical and methodological principles of public administration of regional development, to analyze the current state and main trends of socio-economic development of the regions of Ukraine, as well as to identify key problems and disparities that hinder their sustainable development. The study uses a complex of general scientific and special methods: analysis and synthesis to reveal the theoretical foundations of regional development; statistical analysis to assess indicators of socio-economic development of regions; comparative method to identify disparities and regional differences; systematic approach to integrate the results obtained into a holistic picture of the current state of regional development of Ukraine. The study showed that the regional development of Ukraine is characterized by both positive trends (activation of innovation processes, increasing the role of local self-government, the emergence of new mechanisms for financing development), and a number of problems (uneven socio-economic development, disparities in employment of the population, unequal access to resources and services). It was established that the key factors of development are institutional reforms, decentralization, digitalization of management processes and attraction of investments. The results of the study confirmed that effective public management of regional development should be based on the principles of balance, innovation and sustainability. Overcoming regional disparities is possible provided that the comprehensive implementation of state regional policy combines mechanisms for stimulating economic growth, ensuring social cohesion and improving the quality of life of the population.
