Abstract
The article examines the importance and possibilities of improving the use of information systems in communication between local authorities and the public in the context of the development of digital technologies. Given the growing need for openness, transparency, and efficiency of public administration, information systems have become an integral part of the communication process at the local level. Increasing the level of citizens’ trust in local authorities, as well as the active involvement of citizens in decision-making processes, has become one of the main tasks of modern governance. The article provides a comprehensive overview of the problems and prospects of integrating information systems into the mechanism of interaction between local authorities and the public, analyzes the potential of digital platforms, such as e-government portals, social networks, and mobile applications, in facilitating citizens’ access to information, submitting proposals, and feedback. The purpose of the article is to analyze the improvement of the use of information systems in communication between local authorities and the public with an emphasis on ensuring transparency, efficiency of management processes, and increasing public trust. Particular attention is paid to information security issues, which are critically important for the effective operation of information systems that ensure the interaction of authorities and citizens. The article examines in detail the need to develop and implement reliable mechanisms for protecting personal data, as well as comprehensive cybersecurity measures to prevent data leakage and unauthorized access. It is noted that without proper protection of information resources, the level of citizens’ trust in electronic platforms will decrease, which will negatively affect the efficiency of management. The article also examines strategic areas for improving information policy, including the integration of unified standards for information exchange, modernization of digital infrastructure, and increasing the level of digital literacy among citizens. The conclusions indicate the need to improve the use of information systems in the communication mechanism between local authorities and the public, which is an important step towards increasing transparency, efficiency of management processes and strengthening public trust in government.
